CALLING ALL CLASSIC CAR, MOTORCYCLE AND VINTAGE TRACTOR OWNERS
Every August Bank Holiday Monday the Donhead St Andrew Summer Fete and its Classic Car & Bike Show attracts visitors from miles around.
This annual fete is regarded as one of the best traditional village fetes in Wiltshire and Dorset, as well as being one of the best-attended. The fete takes place in a huge field in Donhead St Andrew with wonderful views across the countryside to the Chase. In 2022 the fete attracted nearly 2,000 visitors, drawn from across the local communities and a good number from further afield. Over 200 villagers from Donhead St Andrew are involved in putting on the fete.
One of the main attractions is the ever-growing Classic Car and Motorcycle Show. With over 70 cars and bikes attending every year it has become a ‘must do’ event for owners who like to show off their hard work restoring their vehicles.
The fete is a bonus for car and bike owners who can enjoy the BBQ, beer & cider tent and cream teas. There is lots of seating to enjoy music from The Sunset Cafe Stompers. Selling stalls at the fete are always very well-stocked and include cakes & home produce, plants, clothes, handbags, books, collectables & bric a brac, paintings, toys, games, gifts, jewellery, CDs, DVDs and records.
There are amusements for children and families including a Punch & Judy Show, china smash, coconut shy and skittle alley. There’s a Bottle Tombola, live auction of seasoned logs and the annual Dog Show.
We support a number of county and local charities every year.
The invitation to bring your interesting car or bike along goes out to everyone whether you own an iconic classic Moggy Minor, a custom car, vintage Riley or simply anything not often seen on the roads today.
Previous years have seen single seat racing cars, military jeeps, a £50,000 Brough Superior motorcycle and a Citroen 2CV. All are appreciated by visitors as a memory from past ownership to the desired car poster on the wall as a child.
This year vintage tractors are also welcome to add to the amazing show seen every year.
Rosettes will be awarded by the public for their favourite classic vehicles.
Call Nick Butcher on 07957 519711 for more details and to let him know you can attend.
The event is held at Stoney Hills Field, Sands Lane, Donhead St Andrew SP7 9LL on Monday 31st August 2026, with show vehicles to arrive by 12 noon.
